I’m Zaz, a professional vocalist with 14+ years’ experience. I confidently perform as a soloist, tailoring backing tracks by adding my own recorded backing vocals to enhance my act. I also manage and sing lead vocals in my covers band, Version, which I have grown since 2011.
On my journey as an artist I have performed as part of many other combos from a piano duo, to a 12-piece show band, to a Salsa ensemble.
With regards to my true love and main passion, I have had the pleasure of being backing vocalist for the likes of Desta French, Laville, Matt Henry MBE and currently for Jessica Wilde. Working with these artists has allowed me to have the honour of supporting highly acclaimed artists such as Roy Ayers, John Legend and Fatback Band.
The rich, soulful and Latin sounds from these artists embodies exactly what I’m passionate about as a vocalist and as a lover of music in general. My vocal style is heavily influenced and moulded by my obsession with genres such as Neo-Soul & 80s Funk, House & UK Garage, Brazilian jazz-funk & old school Salsa music - and my repertoire reflects this in every single performance with songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
